The Filing Period for School Board Election Begins July 12, 2010.
An election will be held on November 2, 2010 to fill seats on the governing board currently held by Judith Dietrichson from Trustee Area 1 (Randsburg area); and Kurt D. Rockwell, Amy Covert, and Tom Pearl from Trustee Area 2 (all other areas of the district). The filing period for these positions is July 12, 2010 through 5:00 p.m. on August 6, 2010. Declaration of Candidacy forms will be available at the office of the Kern County Registrar of Voters, 1115 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield. Candidates will also be able to file in Ridgecrest on July 27, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the office of the Kern County Supervisor, 400 North China Lake Blvd.

We are located in the Indian Wells Valley of California's beautiful high desert. The valley, averaging 2,500 feet in elevation, is surrounded by the magnificent Sierra Nevada, Coso, and Argus Mountain Ranges. The city of Los Angeles is a three-hour drive to the south, and Bakersfield, the Kern County seat, is two hours to the west. The highest and lowest points in the contiguous United States (Mount Whitney in the Sierra Nevadas and Badwater in Death Valley) are both within a comfortable driving distance. The air in the Indian Wells Valley is clean and clear with practically unlimited visibility.
