Our webpage is designed to provide access to staff, students, parents and community regarding important information about our schools and contact persons for programs. Our learning environment is rich in content and culture. Our staff is experienced, competent, and caring. Our community is actively involved in the educational experience of our students. We are very grateful to our community for supporting “Measure A” to provide funding for modernization and improvement of our school sites. A comprehensive master plan to modernize and improve our schools can be found on our website.

Sierra Sands Unified School District represents one of the finest educational institutions in California. Our schools offer quality programs and teaching expertise that lead to the improvement of student achievement throughout the district. Through the efforts of staff, students and community all schools in our district have received the honor of being recognized by the State or nationally for excellence. Most recently, Burroughs High School became a California Distinguished High School, and Pierce and Gateway Elementary Schools were recognized as Honorable Mention Distinguished Schools. Inyokern Elementary School was designated as a National Blue Ribbon School, one of only 34 schools selected in the State of California.

Sierra Sands Unified School District offers a comprehensive educational opportunity for each student through a vision that focuses on high quality education and shared responsibility for the success of all students. Board adopted district goals focus on improved student achievement through alignment with California State Standards at each grade level; annual review of progress toward meeting goals; safe, secure, well-maintained, and adequately equipped schools; enriched educational experience and positive learning environment; and a variety of programs, strategies, and staff development that result in the success of all students.
