The Sierra Sands Unified School District proudly announces that Pierce Elementary School has launched the Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students) program, an initiative aimed at enhancing student safety, engagement, and connection by welcoming positive male role models into the school environment.
Through the Watch D.O.G.S. program, all father figures are encouraged to volunteer at the school, providing essential support and fostering a sense of community and involvement in students’ education. Their presence has made a significant difference.
Principal Dulce Baca expressed her enthusiasm for the program, stating, "The Watch D.O.G.S. program is a wonderful opportunity to deepen connections within our school community and create a supportive environment where students can thrive. We’re thrilled to see this initiative come to life at Pierce Elementary."
The success of this launch would not have been possible without the dedicated leadership of Mr. Gamboa, who played an instrumental role in introducing and championing the program at Pierce Elementary. Principal Baca added, "We are immensely grateful to Mr. Gamboa for his vision, commitment, and tireless efforts in bringing Watch D.O.G.S. to our school. His leadership has been inspiring, and his impact will undoubtedly be felt by our students, staff, and families."
The program kicked off with an engaging orientation event, where volunteers learned about the mission of Watch D.O.G.S. and how they can contribute to fostering a positive and inclusive school culture. The event also provided an opportunity for participating role models to connect with students and staff, highlighting the collaborative spirit of the Pierce Elementary community.
