Sierra Sands Unified School District and the Ridgecrest Police Department are working together to address a growing safety concern in our community. Both agencies have seen an increase in accidents involving electric bikes and electric scooters, and nationally, there have been numerous incidents involving serious injuries and, tragically, fatalities related to E-Bike and E-Scooter accidents.

To help prevent similar tragedies here in Ridgecrest, SSUSD and RPD are launching a joint effort to provide families and students with accurate information and practical safety guidance. The first step in this partnership is the release of the attached flyer, which outlines key safety tips and highlights the risks associated with E‑Bikes and E‑Scooters. We encourage you to review this information with your child and talk with them about safe and responsible riding.

Sierra Sands Unified School District has partnered with the Ridgecrest Police Department to create an informational video focused on safe and responsible E-Bike and E-Scooter operation. The video is intended to help educate our students, parents, and community about the risks associated with these vehicles and the importance of making safe choices when riding. Our shared goal is to keep students safe as they travel to and from school and throughout the community.
