Retirees with President Campbell and Superintendent Moore

Sierra Sands Unified School District proudly recognizes the dedicated employees whose service has made a lasting impact on our students, schools, and community. Each year, the Board of Education takes time to honor those who have retired—or will retire—during the current school year, celebrating their years of commitment, care, and excellence.

This year, we recognize 12 outstanding retirees, including 7 certificated and 5 classified employees, whose combined years of service reflect a deep and enduring commitment to Sierra Sands and the success of our students.


🌹 Certificated Retirees

  • Beverly Ewbank – Director of Human Resources, District Office (1984–2026)

  • Christopher Ostermann – Assistant Principal, Burroughs High School (1987–2026)

  • Marcia Didtler – Art Teacher, Burroughs High School (1998–2026)

  • Judith Dwyer – Math Teacher, Burroughs High School (1998–2026)

  • Randy Hannah – Auto Shop Teacher, Burroughs High School (2003–2026)

  • Eileen Poole – English Teacher, Burroughs High School (2005–2026)

  • Samuel Thompson – Industrial Arts Teacher, Burroughs High School (2018–2026)

🌹 Classified Retirees

  • Diane Pipkin – Library/Textbook Technician, Education Services (1996–2025)

  • Melanie Christy – Operations Technician, Transportation (2002–2026)

  • Dorothy Mgebroff – Custodian, SELPA, Education Services & Central Kitchen (2008–2026)

  • Christopher Sutton – Instructional Supply & Equipment Technician, Burroughs High School (2012–2026)

  • Lori Perry – Noon Duty Supervisor, Gateway Elementary School (2014–2026)


Across classrooms, offices, campuses, and departments, these individuals have shaped generations of students through their expertise, dedication, and care. Their work has strengthened our district and enriched the lives of countless students and families.

Their legacy is reflected not only in years of service, but in the relationships they built, the programs they supported, and the difference they made each day.

As they begin this well-deserved new chapter, we extend our deepest gratitude for their contributions and wish them continued happiness and fulfillment in retirement.
