Thank You, Jasmine Casas Flores
During the 2025–2026 academic year, Jasmine Casas Flores served with distinction as the voice of students at the Board of Education. Throughout her service, Jasmine demonstrated thoughtful leadership, advocacy, and a deep commitment to ensuring that student perspectives were meaningfully represented.

One of her most impactful contributions was spearheading the District’s first celebratory dinner honoring military-connected students and their families. As the child of an active-duty service member, Jasmine brought personal understanding and compassion to this work. She recognized the unique challenges military families face—frequent moves, changing schools, and the difficulty of building connections—and worked to create a space where those experiences were acknowledged, valued, and celebrated.
Her leadership not only amplified student voice but strengthened our sense of community and belonging across the district. We are incredibly grateful for Jasmine’s service and proud of the legacy she leaves behind.

Welcome, Shade Zehendner
We are excited to welcome Shade Zehendner, who has been selected by her peers to serve as the 2026–2027 Student Board Member.
Shade steps into this important role with the trust and confidence of her fellow students, and we look forward to partnering with her as she represents student perspectives at the district level. Her voice will play a vital role in shaping decisions, strengthening connections, and ensuring that student experiences remain at the center of our work.
Looking Ahead
Student Board Members serve as an essential bridge between students and district leadership, helping ensure that decisions reflect the experiences and needs of those we serve.
We thank Jasmine for her outstanding leadership and dedication, and we look forward to working alongside Shade as we continue to move the district forward—together.
Congratulations, Jasmine, and welcome, Shade!
